DESCRIPTION:Join us for a very special visit from America’s oldest museum! Led by a professional museum educator, we’ll dig into history together!\nExperience what life was like on the Homefront during World War II. Even though no battle took place in Charleston, the war changed the world of every American as it impacted every aspect of daily life. Use rations to get groceries for the week, learn Morse Code and practice using a flashing light, learn about civilian plane spotting, create a mini victory garden, and examine propaganda posters to see how men, women, and children helped the war effort. Aligns with SC educational Standards: 5.3\nWhile this class is recommended for grades 5+ we understand you know your learner best.\nPlease note:\n– The Outdoor Classroom is 100% outdoors, unless otherwise noted. Please dress for each day’s weather.\n– Class fees are not refundable.\n– If Katie’s Krops cancels or reschedules a program, registrants may apply their class fee to a future class/event, or reclassify their registration fee as a donation to the garden.\n– Registrants withdrawing up to 48 hours prior to the program will be eligible to apply their fee to a future class/event.\n– Registrants who are a “no-show” will forfeit their registration fee.\n
