Outdoor Classroom

The outdoor classroom is a beautiful natural space located in the heart of our flagship garden! Students and their guardians will become a part of an immersive experience, where teachers use the garden and nature as learning tools. Students learn about various topics from composting and recycling, cooking using fresh garden produce, pollinators, butterfly gardens, trees, and animal friends, arts and crafts, and story time to name a few. A caregiver remains with the student during the class and is free to explore the garden before and after the class.

There is a calendar of the classes and links to sign up for each class. Limited space is available for each class for the safety and enjoyment of each student. Some classes are open to kids of all ages, and some have age restrictions depending on the topic. Adult classes are also offered!

Rules To Remember

  • While we love our gardening friends of all ages, going forward all classes in the Outdoor Classroom will be limited to children kindergarten – 5th grade, unless otherwise specified. Storytime is open to kids of all ages! Our instructors set the age ranges for each class they teach. At this time, we are unable to accommodate non-registered children and/or children outside of the age range of each class. We want to make sure everyone has a positive experience at Katie’s Krops Outdoor Classroom, both instructors and students alike.
  • Class payment is expected to be sent within 24 hours of registering for the event in order to hold your spot.
  • Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled class time. Anyone arriving more than 5 minutes after the class start time may be asked to sit out the class so as not to disrupt instruction.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for making sure their children do not disrupt the instructor or distract other children.
  • We are a working garden and closed-toe shoes are required for all guests.
  • Bullying of any type will not be tolerated.
  • With all Katie’s Krops activities, if you are ill, have had a fever within 24 hours of a planned activity, or have been around someone sick, we ask that you do not visit the garden. Anyone ill will not be permitted to attend garden activities until at least 24 hours after their fever (temperature of 100 degrees or higher) is gone.
