Charleston Museum Visit – We All Did Something: Charleston Homefront in WWII (Recommended 5th+)

Join us for a very special visit from America’s oldest museum! Led by a professional museum educator, we’ll dig into history together!

Experience what life was like on the Homefront during World War II. Even though no battle took place in Charleston, the war changed the world of every American as it impacted every aspect of daily life. Use rations to get groceries for the week, learn Morse Code and practice using a flashing light, learn about civilian plane spotting, create a mini victory garden, and examine propaganda posters to see how men, women, and children helped the war effort. Aligns with SC educational Standards: 5.3

While this class is recommended for grades 5+ we understand you know your learner best.
