SCDNR Archaeology for Kids – Mini Excavation Blocks (Ages 6+)

Join us for a very special visit from SC Department of Natural Resources – Archaeology! Children will excavate their own tabletop archaeology unit by picking away at the dirt until they find artifacts buried in the unit (a pre-made block composed of sand, plaster and mock artifacts). During this activity, participants will learn about the steps archaeologists take in the field during a real excavation, and how archaeologists analyze what they discover in the lab once they return fro the field.
