2020 has been a year full of triumphs and struggles, and many firsts. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted us all in countless ways.

In March of 2020, after seeing the number of individuals and families who were facing food insecurity as a result of the pandemic, we at Katie’s Krops knew we needed to step up and be there for those struggling while food insecurity and hunger.
Several amazing changes sprouted up during this time. We launched our Seeds for Change Program to empower kids in quarantine to grow fresh produce. Our monthly Katie’s Krops Dinners for 250 became weekly dinners for 500+. Our Growers across the country developed new and creative ways to expand their efforts to reach families who have never before been impacted by hunger. Our new flagship garden took shape and grew 2,000 plus pounds in less than a year. We launched our 2021 Grower Search to welcome 75 new Katie’s Krops Growers in 2021.
With our seeds for change program, we were able to distribute over 2,150 seeds to 23 states across the United States as well as in Canada, engaging hundreds of individuals and families and providing them with a way to grow their own food in a fun and socially distant way.
With our Katie’s Krops Meal Distributions, we will have served over 16,500 meals in 2020. All of these meals hot, healthy and free to anyone in need in the community and safely passed to individuals through car windows. The total number of meals we have served in 2020 is more meals than we have distributed in 5 years!
With the unprecedented times 2020 brought, we knew that 2021 would be the year of the home grower. We created 75 grow boxes which will be distributed to youth between the ages of 7-16 across the United States, including everything necessary to grow a healthy end to hunger in their communities!
In order to continue all of these programs, and make an even bigger impact in 2021, we need your help! It is our goal to raise $21,000 to start off the new year, so we can immediately begin focusing again on helping our communities in need, all across the country! Any donation is greatly appreciated and will bring us one step closer to making an even bigger impact in 2021.
Thank you for always supporting my dream, and the dreams of youth across the country to end hunger one vegetable garden at a time. If 2020 taught me anything, it is the resilience and power of community, and how working together anything is possible. I’m so excited to see what 2021 brings!
